When the mirror forgets your face.

Dear reader,

I knew someone once, she wondered into a forest she thought she knew.

the trees were familiar - same bark, same bend, same hush in the wind. She believed she'd walked that path before but somewhere in between the third hop and the fourth skip, the path vanished, no markers, no map, just her and the quiet.

She panicked, desperate for someone in the woods to remember her, to re-direct her, but the woods stayed silent, as if it had forgotten her name. Yet she knew, she was sure that she'd been there before. After the panic clamed, she sat and she listened, the forest hadn't forgotten her nor was she betrayed, she had been invited to make her own way. She'd outgrown the old one.

There comes a moment in life when the reflection staring back at you feels unfamiliar. Not because you've changed so much but because you've started seeing yourself differently. Clearly. There's a feeling of confusion and suspension when you know you've outgrown your old self but the new you isn't present yet. you'll fee disoriented for a moment but as soon as you realize how powerful the shift your making is, you'll feel liberated.

It’s not always dramatic. Sometimes it’s subtle.

You wake up and realize the things that used to excite you now feel hollow. The friendships that once felt like home now feel like borrowed space. The goals you chased so fiercely? They don’t even sound like your voice anymore.

And it’s confusing. Because no one warns you that growth feels like grief. That becoming who you’re meant to be often means mourning who you used to be.

You’ll feel suspended—caught between the comfort of the known and the pull of the possible. You’ll stare into the mirror and wonder: Who is this person?

You’ll feel proud. You’ll feel scared. You’ll feel like you’re both arriving and leaving at the same time.

But that’s the magic of it.

You’re shedding labels you never chose. You’re rewriting definitions that were handed to you before you knew how to question them. You’re learning to dream bigger, chase harder, and work for more—not because someone told you to, but because you finally believe you’re worth it.

So, if you're feeling lost right now, maybe you're not. Perhaps you're just in that forest that forgot your name and erased your initial path because it's waiting for you to take up a bolder name... draw a better path.

So the next time you look into the mirror, ask yourself.... what part of your reflection no longer fits and what are you ready to see instead.

Love,

Me <3

P.S.: It gets better and love, the real kind, always wins
